Step 2 — Review & Offer

Within 1 business day, we will review your submission and confirm:

  • Eligibility of proceeding to next steps

  • Selling price and payment structure 

We offer two options. Let us know your preference, and we’ll work together to determine the most suitable structure.

Option A — Consignment

For those seeking a higher return.

  • Accepted items are authenticated and professionally listed.

  • We manage pricing, presentation, and client inquiries.

  • Items are consigned for a minimum period of three months.

To ensure sufficient exposure, Second Author will exclusively list the consigned item for the first 90 days. If the item remains unsold after this period, the owner may arrange for its return. Shipping costs for returns will be borne by the owner. Early withdraw within the initial 3-month window would result in a $300 admin fees.

Payment is issued after the item sells and may be received as direct cash or store credit, with store credit generally offering greater value.

Option B — Cash Buyout

For those who prefer immediate payment.

  • We provide a purchase offer based on market demand and condition.

  • Upon acceptance, we issue a prepaid insured shipping label.

  • Once received and authenticated, payment is issued promptly.

Payment may be issued as email transfer or as store credit, with store credit typically offering enhanced value.

Step 3 — Authentication and Handling

All accepted items undergo our structured authentication process, including industry-recognized AI-assisted verification through Entrupy where applicable. Items that do not pass authentication cannot be listed and will be returned at the seller's expense.

Approved products are shipped to us using insured labels provided by Second Author and are stored securely while under review or consignment. 

Step 4 — Full-Service Representation for Consigned Pieces

By proceeding with consigning with Second Author, you agree with and will comply with Second Author Consignment Agreement.

Once your piece is accepted, our team takes over entirely. We professionally photograph, price, present, and promote your piece to the right audience. We manage all buyer inquiries and transaction details on your behalf.

Once your item sells, you will be notified promptly and your payout will be arranged according to our agreed terms.
